“Witness X” free to speak out

Actor known as Witness X in Geoffrey Rush case may tell their story, but with conditions.

The actor known mysteriously as “Witness X” in the Geoffrey Rush case is free to tell their story, a court has ruled.

But they must not reveal they were looking to offer evidence in the trial which concluded last week.

The suppression order on the identity of the witness does not restrict the woman disclosing the information to others.

The mystery witness came forward during the trial wanting to give evidence for the Daily Telegraph but the move was rejected by Justice Michael Wigney.

He added, “you don’t have to be an expert to join the dots” to figure it out.

A verdict is expected early next year.
