Airdate: New Year’s Eve 2018

Charlie Pickering & Zan Rowe will host ABC coverage with a concert of songs voted by the Australian public.

Charlie Pickering and Zan Rowe will host ABC’s New Year’s Eve coverage live from the Sydney Opera House on December 31, with a concert featuring Tim Minchin,  Christine Anu and Ross Wilson.

They will star alongside Ben Folds, Daryl Braithwaite, Casey Donovan, Isabella Manfredi (Preatures), pop duo Client Liaison, Indigenous Hip Hop artist Baker Boy, soul singer Kaiit and drummer G Flip.

As well as their favourite songs, they will be singing songs from a party playlist voted by the Australian public.

New Year’s Eve: The Night is Yours coverage starts at 9.30pm.

It will be preceded by New Year’s Eve: The Early Night Show from 8.30pm.
But before the concert kicks off, Rove McManus is taking over hosting duties of New Year’s Eve: The Early Night Show. Rove will be joined by Hoot and Hootabelle, Jimmy Giggle, Grace Koh, Jemima, Big Ted and the Design Your Own Fireworks Competition winner as well as other special guests. With lots of music, including performances by Zindzi and Dami Im, and the Family Fireworks to look forward to, it promises to be a fun night for the whole family.

Corrected.

  1. I hate to be a party pooper, but don’t expect David Attenborough to be in the crowd. Someone once say, that “fireworks in ever city of the world, is the most ‘toxic’ event, that man undertakes in the name of enjoyment’. At what cost. We must enjoy it now, It could be banned in the future.

  2. “January 31” ?
So glad ABC still has it. Dread the day when Nine comes waving their cheque book at Sydney Council, converting the night into an endless promo-fest again.

  3. January 31 that’s a month late? Charlie Pickering of The Weekly and Tomorrow Tonight and Double J’s Zan Rowe sounds like great picks for MC’s.
