Legal dispute settled over ex-Seven employee

Seven ordered to pay $70,000 to sales exec Lisa Squillace, who will join 10 from February.

A legal tussle between Seven and former sales exec Lisa Squillace, hired to become 10’s network sales director, has ended with Seven ordered to pay her nearly $70,000.

Squillace was fighting the non-compete period that would have stopped her joining 10 before the end of her non-compete period.

Squillace left her role as Seven’s director of program partnerships in October but she will not be able to join 10 until February 10. Her three months’ notice from Seven ends on December 26.

Mumbrella reports Seven originally offered to reduce Squillace’s non-compete period from six months to two, to begin at the end of her unpaid maternity leave period, meaning her start date with 10 would have been February.

The proceedings have now been dismissed with no order about legal costs. Seven and 10 declined to comment.
