Director Bryan Singer facing new allegations

Hollywood Director & Producer Bryan Singer is facing new allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct with underage boys.

Singer, whose works include Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men, The Usual Suspects, House, Dirty Sexy Money & Legion, is accused by four men of sexual encounters when they were teenagers in the late 1990s.

The authors of an article in The Atlantic, Alex French and Maximillian Potter, spoke to 50 sources over  a 12-month investigation. The allegations range from boys aged 13 – 18 at the time of the incidents.

Singer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, denied Singer had ever had sex with underage boys, and disputed various details of the accusers’ accounts which were originally due to be published in sister magazine, Esquire.

In October Singer posted on Instagram, “In today’s climate where people’s careers are being harmed by mere accusations, what Esquire is attempting to do is a reckless disregard for the truth, making assumptions that are fictional and irresponsible.”

Singer has previously been accused of rape, once by Michael Egan who was 17 at the time of the alleged incident (that case was dropped several months later, after discrepancies emerged in Egan’s story) and later by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman who says Singer raped him on a yacht in 2003. Singer denied the allegation (the case is still pending) but was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody in that same month.

The film went on to win two Golden Globes and is now nominated for several Academy Awards.
