Disgraced lawyer jailed after defrauding Bruce Gordon
Gambling addiction led to lawyer defrauding WIN mogul of over $7m.

Disgraced Sydney lawyer Brody Clarke has been jailed for six years after defrauding WIN mogul Bruce Gordon and others of $10 million, to fuel his gambling addiction.
The 36 year old lawyer at Atanaskovic Hartnell had won over the trust of Gordon, the Australian Financial Review reports, with direct access to Gordon’s Bermuda home phone.
He fooled Deutsche Bank staff into thinking he was Gordon’s son Andrew, and transferred $7.3 million from Gordon’s company Birteku and $2.5 million from WIN’s Deutsche Bank account to his personal account.
Clarke pleaded guilty last June to six charges of fraud.
Gordon is also suing Clarke’s former employer, Atanaskovic Hartnell, alleging the law firm failed to supervise him.

The irony is that WIN seems to air very few, if any, gambling ads, whereas their opposition, especially Prime, have wall-to-wall three or more in a break gambling ads.
