Golden Globe Awards 2019: winners

Winners: The Americans, The Kominsky Method, Assassination of Gianni Versace & an honour for Carol Burnett.

The Americans, The Kominsky Method and The Assassination of Gianni Versace were amongst winners at The 76th Golden Globe Awards.

Host Andy Samberg said in the show’s opening  that they are “going to have some fun, give out some awards, and one lucky audience member is going to get to host the Oscars!”

Sandra Oh said the unlikely pairing of her and Samberg came because they’re “the only two people left in Hollywood who haven’t gotten in trouble for saying something offensive.”

But Oh also got suitably serious to address change in diversity.

“If I could take this moment here in all honesty, I said yes to the fear of being on this stage tonight because I wanted to be here to look out into this audience and witness this moment of change,” she said. “And I’m not fooling myself. I’m not fooling myself. Next year could be different. It probably will be. But right now, this moment is real. Trust me, it is real. Because I see you. All of these faces of change, and now so will everyone else.”
