New US drama for Travis Fimmel
Aussie lands a role in new sci-fi series directed by Ridley Scott.

Aussie Travis Fimmel (Vikings) has landed a new US sci-fi drama Raised by Wolves for cable network TNT.
Fimmel will play an android named Father who, along with a female android named Mother, is charged with raising human children on a new planet. “As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task,” the description notes.
Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) will direct his first TV work in fifty years, helming the first two episodes and serve as an executive producer as well.
Screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) will serve as showrunner. No word on where this will air in Australia.

Oh yes!
The makers of Battlestar Galactica could be looking at another similar spin-off for its Cylons as well, the shows season finale ended with the premise that an Earth like planet is the final refuge for Humanity with the further evolved Cylons keeping an eye on things.
