Netflix has renewed period drama The Last Kingdom for a fourth season.
Alexander Dreymon, who plays Uhtred, the son of a Saxon nobleman, revealed the news in a very unique video on Twitter.

Originally produced by BBC and Netflix for two seasons, the third was produced by Netflix alone.
Alexander Dreymon previously told TV Tonight each season comprises 2 books from the 10 book The Saxon Stories so he was in for the long haul.

I initially regarded this show as ‘Vikings Lite’, but the most recent season was great viewing and probably better than Vikings post-Ragnar. King Alfred was wonderful. I look forward to the next season.
