Former TEN Eyewitness News political reporter Josh Murphy died last week.

Former TEN Eyewitness News reporter Josh Murphy died last week, aged 36.

He died on Friday after losing his battle with brain cancer.

Murphy was a NSW State Political reporter for 10 before working for the NSW Liberal Govt as part of its Communications team.

In a 10 tribute Nick Etchells told viewers, “Josh shone a bright light on politics in the state. His many exclusives exposed many important public issues. He was razor sharp at cutting through the political jargon because he understood the public. But his fabulous sense of humour and, more than anything, his kindness shone an even brighter light on himself.

“A truly decent guy who inspired many.”

  1. The word tragedy can sometimes be too liberally thrown around but not here with Josh. This is unbearably sad and tragic; such a young talented guy. I used to enjoy his filed stories on Ten News. He was smart, even handed and insightful. I don’t normally send condolences to the loved ones of a person being paid tribute here, but if his family read this post, I hope they navigate their loss and sorrow as best they can. Josh Murphy was a terrific journalist and nice guy.
