Iconic ABC series Mr. Squiggle is being celebrated with commemorative coins from the Royal Australian Mint ahead of his 60th birthday.
Mr. Squiggle will feature on $2 coins available from the Mint’s website, along with Blackboard, Bill Steam Shovel, Gus the Snail. $1 coins and a 1c piece have also been released.
Rebecca Hetherington, daughter of creator Norman Hetherington, told ABC, “He would be really thrilled, but he would also be very shy and humbled about it…but very excited.”
Mr Squiggle turns 60 in July.

But it isn’t the 60th anniversary of Mr Squiggle. The show was taken off the air more than 20 years ago.
How cool. I loved this show as a kid in the 90’s.
Hi David, the link in your article is actually for a private coin and banknotes company (Downies) which happens to be an authorised dealer of Royal Australian Mint. The direct link to the Mint website is: eshop.ramint.gov.au/60th-Anniversary-of-Mr-Squiggle-and-Friends/10168.aspx
Thanks, fixed!
Just to be fair, you should include the word—-respected—-authorised dealer. I use them often.
When it comes to squiggle, I think it is great .
He deserves the recognition.
Probably the most he has ever been paid.
