Hans to perform in Eurovision: Australia Decides

In what sounds like a perfect fit, uber-talented Berlin expat Hans will perform during Saturday’s Eurovision: Australia Decides special on the Gold Coast.

Hans, who rose to TV prominence on America’s Got Talent tells TV Tonight, “Honey, I’m so thrilled to SBS’s token European amongst all these fabulous Aussie performers at the weekend’s Eurovision: Australia Decides event!

“As a long time Eurovision fan (shocking, I know) I hope that I can make all the other Euro-tragics happy with what we are planning.”

The accordion superstar, aka Adelaide based entertainment journalist Matt Gilbertson, is a guest performer along with Dami Im. But viewers won’t be able to vote for him (this year anyway).

“My performance is remaining top secret at the moment but I will say – expect lots of glitz and glamour and even a touch of nostalgia,” he teased.

“I’m also looking forward to cheering on all the artists who are competing to represent Australia this year. There are some fabulous songs in the mix and I think whoever Australia decides to send through will be a worthy choice.”

Hans: Like a German will premiere at Adelaide Fringe Festival in late February with a season at The Malthouse for Melbourne International Comedy Festival from late March.

Eurovision: Australia Decides airs 8:30pm AEDT Saturday on SBS.
