One Day at a Time “needs more viewers”
Showrunner makes a plea to fans to spread the word, after meeting with execs.

US sitcom One Day at a Time may not proceed to a fourth season unless it can increase its audience numbers, according to Show runner Gloria Calderon Kellett.
She met with Netflix execs to discuss a season renewal.

They made clear that they love the show, love how it serves underrepresented audiences, love its heart & humor, but…we need more viewers. They'll decide soon.

A reimagining of the Norman Lear classic, it centres around a Cuban-American family and features Justina Machado and Rita Moreno.
Season 3 premiered on Netflix earlier this month.

I started watching it yesterday and ended up watching the entire first season and 1 or 2 episodes of the 2nd Season. Love it.
I seriously love this show, and so does my mum, so much so that between us we spent over $100 on t-shirts of the show last night. The cast, showrunners and cast were all surprised that #renewODAAT was trending worldwide on Twitter. Norman Lear, Melissa Fumero, Gloria Estefan, Wilson Cruz plus other actors and writers have all been tweeting as part of the campaign. Coming from a single parent family I identify with many of the storylines in the show
The early seasons were OK but I’m struggling to get into S3 as it’s PC’ing itself out of existence.
How exactly is it doing that?
