Paul Murray Live gets local in Toowoomba

SKY News host Paul Murray last night hosted the first of his ten "Our Town" regional events.

SKY News host Paul Murray last night hosted the first of his ten “Our Town” regional events, broadcasting in Toowoomba.

$40,000 was raised by retailer Harvey Norman for local community groups and singer Adam Harvey performed.

Christine King, State President of Queensland Country Women’s Association said: “We thank and welcome the involvement and financial support from Harvey Norman to QCWA Public Rural Crisis Fund to support this project in the outlying areas of Toowoomba. This initiative combining with the application for fuel vouchers will be a great benefit for these local areas. We are pleased to receive the support of Harvey Norman for these communities.”

Paul Whittaker, Sky News Chief Executive said: “Broadcasting live from Toowoomba, we kicked off the Our Town regional tour with a great show last night as we showcased and celebrated the local heroes, unique stories and the incredible community spirit of the region to our national television audience. Thanks to our partners Harvey Norman and Sony Music, tonight’s show will make a positive and lasting impact to many people across Toowoomba and the surrounding districts.”

The next destination will be announced on Paul Murray Live on Monday.

Okay so this one is away from the studio but whether its Murray, Credlin, Bolt,Kenny etc. the themes are all so repetetive (particularly with an election looming) it’s no surprise that few people watch this stuff. And there are still three months more of it before the poll. Just proves that Foxtel subscribers like myself are there for the sport and not much else!
