Reality TV stars on police charges

Australian Survivor & Married at First Sight participants make news this week for all the wrong reasons.

Two Reality TV participants have made news this week for all the wrong reasons.

Brian Lake, who was a finalist in Australian Survivor last year, has reportedly been charged with seven charges including unlawful assault, aggravated burglary, criminal damage and trespassing.

The former Hawthorn player appeared in Melbourne Magistrates court on Monday night in connection with an incident that occurred on Sunday 17 February. He was granted bail.

He is due to face court again on March 13 where it is reported he will plead guilty to some reduced charges. News.com.au reports Lake checked himself into a mental health facility immediately after being released from custody.

Meanwhile Married At First Sight intruder and former rugby player Daniel Webb (pictured) could be facing potential jail time over allegedly scamming millions from innocent families.

He has been charged with aggravated fraud after allegedly taking part in a huge 2014 telemarketing scam on the Gold Coast, as part of a syndicate calling over 600 people and reportedly robbing them of $20 million.

Police claim Webb took advantage of vulnerable people and asked them to cough up between $500-$1000 for a four-day trial of investment and betting software before getting them to sign on to a 12-month contract.

Reports suggest as part of his bail conditions he had to “check in at the police station every fortnight and had to fly home from filming MAFS to undertake these check in to ensure he wasn’t breaching his conditions.”

The 35-year-old will face the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
