Renewed: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Legacies.
US Superhero and fantasy titles will be back for more.

The CW has renewed a swag of its favourite youth-skewing titles today several of which screen in Australia on Foxtel.
Arrow is back for an 8th season.
The Flash heads to season 6.
Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl both proceed to season 5.
Legacies gets a second season.
10 and Netflix titles Supernatural, Charmed, Riverdale, Black Lightning and Dynasty are also renewed.
“This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning,” said The CW president Mark Pedowitz.
“These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”

Yep and I think what they should do especially with Bat Woman coming in soon, is drop them all to 12 episodes a season so they can focus in a bit better and when one finishes start the next one (don’t run them concurrently). That would cover 48 weeks of the year, leaving 4 weeks spare for holidays and maybe one 1.5 – 2 hour episode as a cross-over that stands alone. Legends of Tomorrow is fine as it is as a standalone and how it wasn’t part of Elseworlds (which they dealt with well), though I’d do the same and drop that to 12 episodes, instead of like this time 8 then 12. Yes LOT has turned into a bit of a comedy, however I think it suits it well and has made the show better. I just think with The Flash doing 23 and Arrow doing 22 episodes a year it is putting a strain on it all, Supergirl on 15 isn’t as bad but still 12 would suit better and the writers could focus on all 3 (soon…
Yes, agree with yourself & Troy. It isn’t so much that the shows have had too many seasons, rather than the seasons are too long. Each of these shows are inconsistent from season to season, although pretty much all of them have bounced back from a poor season. I actually think 16 episodes per season is about right for these shows. I’ll stand corrected in a month’s time if I’m wrong, but I’m feeling this final 12 episode season of Gotham is rushing things to a conclusion a little too much.
Yeah it has seemed rush, then again though if it had been 12 episodes all along it may not have been that way. Plus with Fox renewing for a fifth and final series, that may have been the caveat to it returning and the story may have needed more episodes, so they’ve had to rush it (as they thought they’d have more).
The Flash has been awful this season. The trouble with these CW shows is they tend to go on past their use by date.
Or that they are about 7 to 8 episodes too long each season. Trim to 16 and see a much tighter, more focused season. But the idea of less is more has gone out the window in this day and age (except for UK productions of course, which tend to be amazing because of this).
The Flash was lacklustre last season too. Supergirl is bordering on boring… however Legends is always great fun and Arrow (despite heavy criticism), has been pretty much awesome from season 1. I rarely find myself bored whilst watching it.
Yes, I’m still watching Arrow too, this season has been interesting. And Supergirl, although I don’t appreciate their heavy political slant. I’ve stopped watching the Flash it’s become too convoluted, it was my favorite when it started. And yes Legends is fun, and benifits from shorter seasons.
