Angie Kent confirmed as The Bachelorette

Former Goggleboxer is now looking for love in 10's reality series.

Former Gogglebox reviewer Angie Kent has been confirmed as The Bachelorette for 2019.

A 10 release confirmed the 29-year-old ‘is wide open to falling in love, but also isn’t afraid to tell Mr. Wrong to hit the road.Known for being one half of the hilarious screen critic duo with Yvie Jones, Angie’s infectious smile, sharp wit and courageous attitude recently carried her far in the most recent series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

“I’ve always been the girl who loves to make everyone laugh, but now I reckon it’s time to have someone to laugh with me, rather than at me.

“I’m at a place now where I have loads of self-love, but I’m also open to all of life’s amazing possibilities. So, if 20 or so fellas want to join me, have a laugh and potentially be my perfect partner in life and love – I say – let’s give it a red hot go!”

Network 10 Executive Producer Hilary Innes, said: “Angie is the perfect Bachelorette. She’s genuine, funny, loveable and naturally gorgeous. I am so excited to see Angie’s love story unfold.”

But the casting follows Foxtel Director of Television Brian Walsh unhappy over Gogglebox cast becoming network star on 10.

“You will not see a review of them on Gogglebox,” he recently told TV Tonight.

“From a promotional point of view the issue that upsets Foxtel is the exploitation of the Gogglebox brand to market and sell another program.”

Foxtel relented when Yvie Jones made the final in the jungle.

The Bachelorette is now casting for single males at tenplay.com.au/thebachelorette.

Hosted by Osher Günsberg, The Bachelorette Australia is made for Network 10 by Warner Bros. International Television Production.

  1. I saw this on instagram this morning and thought it was a joke. 10 really do love using the same love-able characters over as many shows as possible.

  2. Now this is happening… I’d love to see a package of Angie’s comments over the years on Gogglebox when they watched The Bachelorette… ?

      1. My comment was meant to be humorous David, I didn’t mean he should be on the show with a view to starting a relationship with Angie. There was interest from each of them when they met on im a celebrity, but that faded quickly as I recall, so I thought it might be funny to bring up Justin and his ego, that was all.

  3. Brian Walsh needs to chill out and pick his bat and ball up off the floor.

Goggle box is a fave of mine and it’s a show about watching people watching Telly.

The Bachelorette is not on my must watch list.

But Gogglebox have covered it before.

To not cover it simply because one of their former personalities is on the show, is childish, and unbecoming

  4. I’ll be that person and say – shame about the lack of diversity. Straight after all those points made by Get Krackin’ hit home for a few people..
The twist will surely be Yvie picking and choosing instead of Angie.
