Hobart grandmother Sue Neill-Fraser, who was the subject of Seven documentary Undercurrent, has won the right to appeal her murder conviction.
Chappell’s body has never been found, nor has any murder weapon. His de-facto partner of 18 years, Susan Neill-Fraser, was convicted of his murder and is currently serving a 23-year jail term in Hobart’s Risdon Prison.
She has always denied committing the crime and has launched multiple appeals.
The case has been the subject of several current affairs programmes, and formed the basis of a 6 part documentary by filmmaker Eve Ash and produced by CJZ.
Yesterday her application to appeal her conviction was successful.
