Apple tipped to reveal streaming service

The buzz is we will know later this month what Apple has in store for its very own streaming service.

Apple looks poised to reveal plans for its dedicated streaming service later this month.

Tech media have received invitations with a distinct film leader countdown hinting “It’s show time” on March 25 (US) event at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino. But an actual launch may not be until later in the year -some reports hint as early as April.

The company has deals with talent such as Oprah Winfrey, M. Night Shyamalan, and Reese Witherspoon and more than two dozen original TV shows in the works with talent including Chris Evans, Jennifer Garner, and Steve Carrell.

“We will participate in the original content world,” CEO Tim Cook has previously said. “We have signed a multiyear partnership with Oprah. But today, I’m not ready to extend that conversation beyond that point. We’ve hired some great people that I have a super amount of confidence in and they’re working really hard and we’ll have something to say more on that later.”

Apple will livestream the “It’s Show Time” event on its website and through the events app on the Apple TV.

  1. its apple….
    so it will
    a) copy what others have already done – probably claiming they invented it
    b) overpriced
    c) apple will make their 50% tax over the actual content providers.
    d) only available to those stupid enough to buy into the walled garden

if they make their own content – big woop
