  1. I’d prefer the original Ms Fisher was back on the ABC, Essie Davis was fantastic in that role and she had good on air chemistry with the actor who played Jack the inspector.
Speaking of the ABC, not much on there is rating all that well lately, with the exception of Hard Quiz and their news and current affairs programs.
“Informer” has been barely promoted, nobody would know it’s on at 9PM on a Thursday evening.
Meanwhile the ABC promotions department continues to endlessly go on about “The Heights”, which is a ratings bomb.

  2. I think 9 will be happy with the NRL figures last night.
It certainly done a number on Gogglebox in Sydney and Brisbane, especially as no Sydney team played.

  3. Shame the numbers for Ms Fisher weren’t higher as it looked sleek and fresh. Just noticed the F1 is on 10Bold not ten HD… Why doesn’t TEN film their programming meetings and put that on air. Seriously. That would be car crash television and would let Australia into what on earth they are thinking and i’m sure would rate. I think it should be called ‘How To Get It Wrong & Wonder Why’.

  4. Unlike the original Ms Fisher, I didn’t feel like I was transported back to its era. Too much modern sensibilities come through in the writing, and I ‘m thinking people wouldn’t have said or thought that back then. Apart from Joel Jackson, the rest of the cast looked and felt like they were just playing dress ups, rather than being from the 1960s. This will go down, with The Golden Palace and Joey as one of those spinoffs that just couldn’t capture the magic of its predecessor.

    1. Yes, I have quite enjoyed Ms Fisher too.
Never watched the original but have found this version quite good.
As others have said, a shame the ratings were so low – it definitely deserved better.
I think it would have fared much better on the ABC on Friday nights , in the old Dr Blake timeslot.
Would watch again if it’s renewed..

  5. I would say no more Ms Fisher on its numbers. The Informer tanking on ABC … all eps are on iview but I doubt that’s making much difference…. it’s typical quality UK drama.
