Wendy Moore appointed general manager of Lifestyle channels

Pacific Magazines boss & House Rules judge to oversee channel group at Foxtel.

Foxtel has appointed Wendy Moore as its new General Manager of the Lifestyle group, following the departure of Hannah Barnes last year.

Moore, who resigned from Pacific Magazines yesterday will be responsible for Lifestyle, Lifestyle HOME and Lifestyle FOOD channels, including local productions Selling Houses Australia, Grand Designs Australia, Love it Or List it, Great Australian Bake Off and Gogglebox.

Moore has been with Pacific Magazines for 12 years overseeing brands such as Home Beautiful and Better Homes and Gardens, and is known to TV viewers for House Rules.

Brian Walsh, Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, said, “Foxtel is delighted to welcome a media executive of Wendy’s calibre and experience to the team to lead one of our most venerable and time-honoured brands, Lifestyle.

“We waited to get the leader we wanted to take the brand forward and Wendy is key to that ambition. I know that she will bring to the table an incredible wealth of lifestyle insight and knowledge, making her the ideal person to breathe new life into our Lifestyle group while maintaining the unique qualities that makes Lifestyle so loved by our viewers. I can’t wait for her to get started.”

Wendy Moore added, “Lifestyle content is my passion, and the opportunity to build on such a strong portfolio of Lifestyle brands is incredibly exciting. To join Foxtel as they are entering such an innovative period is a dream come true.”

She will join Foxtel from April 29 and report to Stephen Baldwin, Director of Foxtel Networks and On Demand.

  1. My house watches a fair bit of Lifestyle and Lifestyle Home. Only complaint, Home isn’t in HD. With Foxtel forever “consolidating” it’s offerings you would think they could prioritise ensuring what they offer is top quality. Here’s hoping the new head can push for more HD simulcasts.
