I have heard of quite a few people who timeshift these shows so that they can watch the competition shows live. Competition shows are a bit like sport – if you don’t watch live or close to live, then you hear the result elsewhere, or you are out of the loop when everyone is talking the next day.
Does Time shifted mean people that recorded the show on a PVR and then watched later.
Or people that watched it through the Catch up Services such as 7plus and 9now.
Or is it both?

Recorded and watched within 7 days. 7plus, 9Now is covered under VPM (Video Play Measurement) numbers on OzTAM site.

Are these the same people still watching films on VHS and playing music on cassette tapes??
Yes some of us do record to watch later. I tape shows every night & my friends do too. I’d be lost without my recording machines.
It would be interesting to see the combined figures. Presumably there would be a similar trend but higher raw numbers.
I have been posting Timeshifted daily results for years. Check under Ratings tab. Occasionally I break them out into other posts like this.
