Wild Boars series for Netflix

Netflix to co-produce a miniseries dramatising the rescue of the 12 Thai boys & their soccer coach.

Netflix to co-produce a miniseries dramatising the rescue of the 12 Thai boys and their soccer coach who were trapped in a cave for two weeks last year.

The Thai government helped set up a registered entity last year — 13 Tham Luang Company — to field offers and carefully manage the young soccer players’ interests. The players and coach would each receive about 3 million Thai baht ($AU134,000) and will be restricted from giving future interviews about their experience.

As many as five separate adaptations were under discussion, but only one has gone into production.
Tom Waller’s indie feature, The Cave, wrapped production last December, but is said to dramatise the rescue from the perspective of the rescuers.

“We can confirm that we are working on an original scripted miniseries with SKE Global and 13 Tham Luang Company Limited to bring the incredible story of the Thai cave rescue to audiences worldwide on Netflix,” a Netflix spokesperson said.
