“No one to stop us. No one to save us.”

New 10 part series The Society will screen on Netflix from early May. It centres around a group of teenagers are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their town (I hope this is better than Between).

The series stars Rachel Keller (Cassandra), Kathryn Newton (Allie), Alex Fitzalan (Harry), Kristine Froseth (Kelly), Jacques Colimon (Will), Sean Berdy (Sam), Toby Wallace (Campbell), Gideon Adlon (Becca), Olivia DeJonge (Elle), Alex MacNicoll (Luke), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Helena), Jose Julian (Gordie), Salena Qureshi (Bean), Jack Mulhern (Grizz), Grace Victoria Cox (Lexie).

The Society follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town without any trace of their parents. Their newfound freedom will be fun… but it will also be very dangerous. As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, they must establish order and form alliances if they want to survive.

Showrunner: Chris Keyser
Executive Producers: Marc Webb, Chris Keyser

Friday May 10 on Netflix.

  1. As ‘The Society’ is likely made for a young adult audience it’s bound to contain the usual formulaic contemporary themes we come to expect, including exploring sexual preferences, how the producers and writers will find enough original subject matter to separate this show from other similar offerings like Under the Dome or Castle Rock we will have to wait and see. What’s the bet that Netflix will order season 2 not long after its release.
