Dancing with the Stars: grand final

Courtney Act, Samuel Johnson & Constance Hall plus all culled celebrities and singer Conrad Sewell.

Courtney Act, Samuel Johnson and Constance Hall will battle it out in the live Dancing With The Stars Grand Finale on Monday.

All of the culled celebrities will make a return in one final routine. Plus, Conrad Sewell will be performing songs from his debut album, Life.

For their first dance, the couples will perform their favourite routines again. Constance will bust out to Amy Winehouse, Courtney will camp it up with Ginger Rogers and Samuel will perfect his jazz hands for Mr Bojangles.

For the second number our couples will dance a freestyle. That is any dance style they like. Any. Ballet, twerking, line dancing, you name it. Any dance style can be flaunted on the dance floor.

Months of training, blisters, tears and dancing triumphs have come down to this. So. let’s break down our top three, shall we?

Samuel Johnson dancing with partner Jorja Freeman.
Charity: Love Your Sister.
The TV Week Gold Logie winner went on the record saying he had 17 left feet when he first announced his involvement in Dancing With The Stars, so nobody is more surprised than Samuel that he’s made the Grand Finale. Leaning on his acting background to embody every character on the dance floor, Samuel has boasted three standout routines. In week three, Samuel performed a breathtaking contemporary number dedicated to his late sister Connie, week five saw him perform a jazz routine to one of his favourite songs Mr Bojangles and his redemption rumba in the semi-final saw him score a perfect 10 from both Sharna and Tristan.

Courtney Act dancing with partner Josh Keefe.
Charity: Black Rainbow.
Not only has Courtney made history as the first drag performer to take to the Dancing With The Stars ballroom, but Courtney and dance partner Josh are the first same sex couple to be seen on the Australian series. Courtney has had a near perfect run to the mirror ball trophy. Finishing at the top of the leader board every week except one, Courtney wowed and inspired not only the LGBTQI community, but Australia, with her Viennese waltz in week three, finishing the dance stripped down as Shane, sans wig and heels, owning his gender fluid status in the process. Courtney was the first celebrity to receive a 10 in her contemporary routine to Radiohead’s Creep, which reflected her own beautiful story of meeting a man who later rejected her once he knew she was male.

Constance Hall with partner Gustavo Viglio.
Charity: Rafiki Mwema.
Blogger, author and mother of seven Constance Hall signed on to Dancing With The Stars to prove the haters and trolls wrong. And boy did she ever. An army of online followers secured her place in the Grand Finale. Even though she has never been the highest scoring celebrity, she never found herself in jeopardy of a dance off. Her rumba to Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud in week seven was easily her strongest performance, bringing judge Sharna to tears. But Constance’s dance partner Gustavo will face his own battles in the Grand Finale. Not only will he be dancing for his first ever mirror ball trophy, but he will be dancing against his girlfriend Jorja (Samuel’s partner) in the process.

Voting for Courtney, Samuel and Constance will close right before Monday night’s live Grand Finale. Log onto www.tenplay.com.au for all the details.

Dancing With The Stars Grand Finale is hosted by Amanda Keller and Grant Denyer, produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia and BBC Studios, from a format created by the BBC and distributed by BBC Studios.

7.30pm Monday on 10.

    1. Given that the ratings have been between 400,000 and high 500,000’s, the ‘I don’t care’ votes would mostly come from people who don’t watch it, and some from people that genuinely don’t have a preference who wins. An option could be to omit the Don’t Care choice and assume that those who don’t watch won’t participate in the poll.

  1. I would like to see Constance Hall win. I don’t know all that much about her but she has given up a lot of time with her 7 (I think?) kids and really is the underdog. Also she isn’t a bad dancer !

    1. Something I didn’t know about her was that she was on Big Brother back in the day.

She has a Brady bunch of 7 kids.
4 from her previous marriage, 2 belong to her husband from his previous marriage, and 1 they had together.

  2. I am actually excited for the DWTS Grand Final. The weekly shows have all been outstanding, so I’m sure the Finale will be a full on extravaganza. I hope it rates really well too, somewhere in the 700,000 – 850,000 would be nice, and ensure it returns in 2020. I like Conrad Sewell, but would love to have seen former contestants who sing eg: Tina Arena, Kate Ceberano, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Toby Allen, Damien Leith, Tim Campbell, just to name a few, performing a singing and dancing medley production ! Maybe next year 😉

  3. Would love to see the judges dance again but this time without the contestants.

But am looking forward to the final in particular there freestyle acts
