Madonna confirmed as Eurovision guest performer

Madge to perform 2 songs as an interval act.

What a global shot in the arm Eurovision just got with confirmation Madonna will perform in Tel Aviv at interval.

Live Nation Israel has confirmed she will perform two songs as a guest artist, including a new single from her upcoming album, reportedly at a cost of $1.3 million USD covered by Israeli-Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams.

“I am excited and proud to host Madonna in Israel and bring her to the Eurovision. I believe that her participation in the event will dramatically enhance the media exposure that the State of Israel will receive and will contribute significantly to the success of the Eurovision Song Contest and the branding of Israel in the world,” he said.

The production company has also teased that two further artists may appear during Madonna’s performance.

Previous high-profile interval acts for Eurovision have included Aqua and Justin Timberlake.

  1. Madonna has for a long time been one of the greatest singers and performers. I think her more recent albums were not as successful as her previous albums and singles as she may not have had good producers like she did in the past.

Also, this is an opportunity for Israel to provide a good show for the world and showcase their best side positively as they have had poor diplomatic relations with some other countries, however, some of them are outside of the European Union. Though Eurovision is very much considered to be an international event nowadays.

  2. I don’t like when Eurovision ship in big names for the interval. We love Eurovison as it is! Having Madonna there will just detract from the other performers and songs that are taking part in the contest proper.

    1. Well in 1983 she was no name. She wrote her own songs and worked her guts out to make it. Look up her first single “Everybody” on Youtube and you’ll see she was very much an avant garde Eurovision artist; ahead of her time.

  3. Great!
I wonder if they’ll ship over her dancing pole for the youngsters to enjoy her latest banana split.
Have your $1 bills at the ready kids.

        1. Bordellos? Really? When has Madonna ever linked her stage career with brothels? The other two – absolutely. Brothels? That’s going a bit far, David (and I’m a big fan of your work!).

          1. To be clear, it was not a criticism. I went to her Rebel Heart tour and enjoyed it lots. Here is a SMH review of her 1993 tour, “At times she dressed like a Berlin cabaret singer, a military officer, a habitue of a sadomasochistic brothel and an elegant Victorian woman.”
