Netflix steps into original musicals

Netflix recently announced its very first live action original musical, a festive themed film Jingle Jangle.

Co-produced by John Legend, it centres around an embattled toymaker (Forest Whitaker), his precocious granddaughter (Madelen Mills), and a magical invention, that if they can get it to work in time for the holidays, could change their lives forever.

The cast also features Keegan-Michael Key (The Lion King), Phylicia Rashad (Creed, Empire, Cosby), Anika Noni Rose (Princess and the Frog, Power)

Newcomer Madalen Mills (pictured) was found following a global talent search.

David E. Talbert (El Camino Christmas, First Sunday, Baggage Claim, Almost Christmas) is Director / Writer.

The film is currently in pre-production and will be released in 2020.
