Renewed: Hanna

Action drama set in Eastern Europe will return to Amazon Prime.

Amazon Prime drama Hanna has been renewed for a second season.

The series, based on the 2011 film of the same name, follows 15-year-old Hanna (Esmé Creed-Miles), trying to reunite with her father in Eastern Europe but battling a rogue CIA agent and her operatives. It also features Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos. The series is written by David Farr (The Night Manager).

“We knew we had something unique with Hanna, and with the added momentum from its special post-Super Bowl preview, Amazon Prime Video customers worldwide agreed,” said Albert Cheng, co-head of television for Amazon Studios. “Since it debuted only ten days ago, Hanna has had a tremendous response, and we’re thrilled with not only how it has performed for us on the service, but with the action-packed world David Farr has created for the series and the stellar cast, led by Esmé Creed-Miles, Mireille Enos, and Joel Kinnaman. We’re excited to give fans a chance to see Hanna continue her journey on Amazon.”

Season 2 is due to air in 2020 on Amazon Prime.

  1. I wonder whether anyone will have remembered that Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos worked together in the dark thriller ‘The Killing’ as well, Hanna is a well paced show with some good stunt work which offsets some of the stories slower moments, the emotive ending in the final episode was a guarantee that there was going to be another season.
