Renewed: Killing Eve

Sandra Oh & Jodi Comer series gets another green light, right off the back of S2 return.

Hit drama Killing Eve has been renewed for a third season on the back of its second season return.

The series will also be getting another new showrunner.

While Phoebe Waller-Bridge steered S1, her friend, screenwriter Emerald Fennell helmed S2. Now, British writer Suzanne Heathcote (Fear the Walking Dead) will oversee Season 3.

Sarah Barnett, President, Entertainment Networks for AMC Networks, said, “We love having this show and the brilliant Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw on our networks. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Emerald Fennell have delivered two addictively entertaining seasons. As we did last year, we’re renewing Killing Eve right out of the gate, now with Suzanne Heathcote as lead writer, as a sign of confidence – we adore this show as much as our fans do. Killing Eve doesn’t do anything in a templated way; we love giving opportunity to three genius women to make their mark.”

Waller-Bridge added, “I’m very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season 3. We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands.”

Season 2 is now underway on iview in Australia and will broadcast on ABC on Friday April 19.

  1. Interesting article on the BBC News site today, it seems that UK viewers won’t see season 2 for several months, after the US and even the Australian premiere. When season 2 is available in the UK, the full season will be available on the BBC’s iPlayer application. Because the show is a BBC America production, not BBC TV, all episodes have to be shown on US TV first- so this means that depending on BBC America’s schedule, it could be months before UK viewers get to see it.
