Esteemed actress Sigrid Thornton was this week presented with the Chauvel Award at the Gold Coast Film Festival, for her significant contribution to the Australian screen industry.
The event at Movie World paid tribute to her five decades of screen credits including The Man from Snowy River, The Lighthorsemen, Paradise/Guns of Paradise, Prisoner, SeaChange, All the Rivers Run, and, more recently, Wentworth.
She has also been a board member for Film Victoria and is currently executive producer and lead actor on a reboot of SeaChange, which is now in pre-production for Nine.
