What I’ve Been Watching: Helen Dallimore

Hardball's Helen Dallimore is a fan of Our Planet, The Marvellous Mrs Maisel and Outlander.

Hardball‘s Helen Dallimore, who also featured in Here Come the Habibs, is a fan of Our Planet, The Marvellous Mrs Maisel and Outlander.

Here’s what else is on her watch-list.

What’s on your Must See TV list lately and why?
My family and I are watching Hardball every night and loving it. Finally I’m into something my eight year old can watch! He’s pretty horrified by my character, Ms Crapper. Next on the list is Our Planet. We are big David Attenborough fans. The grown ups are loving The Marvellous Mrs Maisel on Amazon, and looking forward to starting season 2 of the brilliant Fleabag. So many great female-led comedies at the moment!

What are your Guilty Pleasure shows?
There’s this show called Game of Thrones we’re addicted to. I reckon it’ll catch on. I also eagerly await each season of Outlander, which I watch very much on my own.

What show you would secretly love to appear on?
Will and Grace, not even secretly…

Which shows would you love to see revived and why?
The Muppet Show – hilarious, brilliant, perfect family viewing (Miss Piggy is my spirit animal). I was also massive A Country Practice fan growing up. Great scripts, great performances and an innocence and charm you don’t see much these days. God I sound like an old person.

Who do you play in Hardball and what can we expect to see in the show?
I play Ms Crapper (the ‘a’ is long), who is a largely misunderstood football supporter and principal elect of Block Street Primary, where Hardball takes place. If you met her, you would think she doesn’t like children very much. The truth is she’s slightly terrified of them. They are so small and so quick, and usually get the better of her. A bit like cockroaches. It’s a hilarious and sweet show about being a new kid on the block, dealing with change and learning how to back yourself.

Hardball airs 4:30pm daily on ABC ME.
