Home & Away, MasterChef lead entertainment shows on Wednesday.

Ratings: Home & Away and The Chase outrank House Rules but Seven scores a win. 10 show tops the demos.

Home and Away topped Wednesday’s entertainment shows at 671,000 and helped Seven to win the night.

From 7:30pm it was a close battle between four networks.

MasterChef Australia won its slot and topped the demos at 634,000 just ahead of Anh’s Brush with Fame (626,000), 7:30 (613,000), House Rules (573,000) and Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation (545,000).

Seven network win with 28.1% then Nine 25.9%, 10 20.15, ABC 19.2% and SBS 6.6%.

Seven News was #1 with 1.03m / 1.01m for Seven. The Chase was high at 627,000 / 394,000. The Bay drew 360,000 and Criminal Minds was 160,000.

Nine News (955,000 / 923,000) led for Nine then A Current Affair (738,000). Hot Seat was 550,000 / 307,000 then Decades (401,000) and New Amsterdam (201,000).

The Project drew 450,000 / 263,000 for 10 then Five Bedrooms (428,000) -down on last week’s 507,000-, 10 News First (371,000), Celebrity Name Game (235,000) and Bull (165,000). Later Sports Tonight was just 43,000.

ABC News was best for ABC at 715,000. The Weekly with Charlie Pickering was 573,000, up on last week’s 510,000, then You Can’t Ask That (410,000), QI (319,000), The Drum (233,000) and Adam Hills: The Last Leg (210,000).

On SBS it was 24 Hours in Emergency (186,000), Great British Railway Journeys (177,000), Going Places with Ernie Dingo (174,000), SBS World News (135,000) and Mastermind (107,000).

Bluey was back on top of multichannels at 219,000.

  1. I’m enjoying Five bedooms too which I didn’t think I would. MasterChef needs to ditch yotam ottolenghi next year and bring a famous chef the public actually knows because he has no pulling power like say Jamie Oliver or Gordam Ramsay would have

    1. I’m really liking Five Bedrooms as well. This one is much better than most local offerings over the last few years -shows real promise.
      Yes, Roz is good value – hilarious. She’s excellent in ‘The Heights’ on the ABC as well.
      Doris Younane as the disillusioned Heather is also a standout. She’s always good in everything she’s been in.
