Julianna Margulies wants to do The Good Fight, but….

"I watch the show, I love the show. But I'm not a guest star. You don't pay me a guest-star salary. I would get a guest-star salary if I went and did SVU."

Julianna Margulies has clarified comments that she turned down the chance to appear on The Good Fight.

Earlier reports suggested she declined The Good Wife spin-off because she was offered a guest artist fee.

Speaking on radio she spoke about equal pay for women and men.

She explained, “…. they were twisting it that I didn’t want to be on the show, that I didn’t think it was good enough. I watch the show, I love the show. But I’m not a guest star. You don’t pay me a guest-star salary. I would get a guest-star salary if I went and did SVU — it’s not my show. I wouldn’t ask for what I got paid as Alicia Florrick. I also know for a fact that any male star who got asked to go on a spinoff of their show would have been offered at least $500,000. I know that for a fact.”

Margulies will next appear in The Hot Zone on National Geographic channel.

The Good Fight airs in Australia on SBS.

  1. I agree that the show does have elements that are…questionable…but I think it’s worth the pay-off. The season is only 10 episodes. Keep watching – even if it’s just for Gina Gershon. And the Blum story arc does resolve itself.

  2. I’m still very much enjoying it, but that may be because it appeals to my political persuasion. However,I do recognise this season is very much treading an increasingly fine line between drama and satire.

  3. I’ve given up on the Good Fight. Its absurdly political and just gets more and more ridiculous. The whole Good Fight Shorts clips each episode really grated and the Blum story arch made zero sense.

  4. I actually liked how the writers danced around Alicia in the first season. It was very fitting of the show. I don’t have any issue with Julianna not appearing.

As for the actual show I’ve only watched three episodes of season three but it’s really starting to grate on my nerves how OTT it is. Also Lucca and Marissa need more airtime.

  5. But it’s not her show, has nothing to do with her, yes it is spin off of the good wife but she never took part so she should be paid guest star pay and not a star pay.
