Kerry Armstrong returns to SeaChange

Kerry Armstrong is back as Heather Jelly with new cast Dan Wyllie, Brooke Satchwell, Katrina Milosevic & Darren McMullen.

Kerry Armstrong will return to SeaChange as Heather Jelly in Nine’s revived drama, joining previously-announced stars Sigrid Thornton and John Howard.

Character actor Kevin Harrington (pictured right) is also returning as local business owner Kev Findlay.

Production on the series begins today in the new-look ‘Pearl Bay’ at Brunswick Heads, north of Byron Bay, NSW.

The series centres around Laura (Thornton) 20 years after she was last seen on the ABC drama. After the breakup of her marriage and then losing her job, Laura finds herself questioning her place in the world. But when she returns to the beachside paradise of Pearl Bay, she learns that her family and her town need her as much as she needs them.

Also joining the cast are Brooke Satchwell (Wonderland, Packed to the Rafters), Dan Wyllie (Romper Stomper, No Activity, Gallipoli, Tangle), Darren McMullen (House Husbands, The Voice), Katrina Milosevic (Wentworth, Winners & Losers, Offspring), Ella Newton (Playing for Keeps, Neighbours, Newton’s Law), Kate Lister (Bad Mothers, Neighbours) and Alex Tarrant (800 Words, Shortland Street).

Hopes for other cast members David Wenham, William McInnes, Shaun Micallef, Kate Atkinson and Jill Forster appear to be dashed, at least in the initial run, but the show sees Deb Cox (a co-creator with Andrew Knight) return as head writer and co-executive producer.

The series is due to screen later this year on Nine.

Original creator and head writer, Deb Cox, returns as executive producer alongside Sigrid Thornton, Fiona Eager, David Mott and Nine’s Andy Ryan and Jo Rooney. Lois Randall is producer with Wayne Blair as set up director.

SeaChange is an Every Cloud Productions and ITV Studios Australia production for Nine, with major production investment from Screen Australia and financed with support from Create NSW. It is distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

  1. Oh they’re going to a different state to film the series? I can’t remember if it was stated that they were in Melbourne initially in the original series and that Peal Bay was part of Vic (somewhere near Geelong). The last time this was done was when A Country Practice moved to ten after 12 years on Seven. All of a sudden Wandin Valley was no longer in NSW, but in Vic. That did not work.
