  1. I suspect there was not a lot of expectation Madam Secretary would be renewed as the whole last season felt like a series finale. The last episode left no ambiguity as to the direction of the characters so it does make me curious where this show can possibly go under its current premise. I just hope it doesn’t turn into a show about an election campaign, I can’t see that being very interesting.

    1. That’s exactly what the show is going to do but the White House is still going to be featured. The new season we get to see Elizabeth McCord’s stance on domestic issues for the first time. I read an article with one of the show runners which gave a bit of an insight into what they are planning.

  2. American national broadcasters need their regular series of shows with their formulaic scripts open ended plots and journeyman actors, perfect hair, makeup and clothes, no explicit nudity or sex and no profanity, American TV wouldn’t be the same without them, the rest of the world is starting to move on however the growth of SVOD during the last year indicates that, I’m sure that fans of these U.S. shows will hope that CBS will continue to keep their production line going.
