Renewed: Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder.

Grey's Anatomy will eclipse ER as the longest-running medical drama in US history.

US drama Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for two more seasons, taking it to Seasons 16 and 17, set to eclipse ER as the longest-running medical drama in US history.

Star Ellen Pompeo has also been contracted for both seasons. The show has also elevated Chris Carmack, Jake Borelli and Greg Germann to series regulars.

Original stars Justin Chambers (Alex), Chandra Wilson (Bailey) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard) are all expected to return.

Grey’s has 10 million total viewers in Live+7 making it ABC’s most popular drama.

New episodes return to 7flix on Tuesday night.

How to Get Away with Murder, with Viola Davis, was also renewed for a sixth season.

  1. Grey’s has already eclipsed ER with now being the longest running US primetime medical drama. Now that Grey’s will finally be airing week, HTGAWM needs an air date!!!

  2. Hard to believe how time flies. And Greys has been able to hold on to it’s lead actor, a feat that ER wasn’t able to match with the departure of Anthony Edwards.

  3. I loved Grey’s but when it moved to 7flix I had no choice but stop watching as it’s not available in the MIA, plus Foxtel are still seasons behind, it’s not on Stan/Netflix and I wasn’t going to buy it on DVD with all the other shows I’ve got going at the moment.
