Renewed: Lego Masters

Nine swiftly greenlights the biggest new hit of 2019 for more.

Lego Masters has been renewed for a second series, just two weeks after its debut on Nine.

Hosted by Hamish Blake, the series has dominated its timeslot since debuting with over 1.5m viewers – the highest launch of any series this year.

It is also the only program in 2019 to have an overnight metro audience of more than one million viewers for every episode.

Michael Healy, Director of Television for Nine, said: “Lego Masters is wholesome viewing that appeals to the entire family and we’re thrilled that it has been so warmly embraced by Australian viewers. The show boasts a great array of characters, the likes of which we haven’t seen on other programs.

“At its core, Lego Masters is a celebration of creativity, showcasing the power of imagination. We can’t wait to see what our teams create for viewers in 2020.”

Mark Fennessy, CEO, Endemol Shine Australia, added: “It’s the breakout hit that’s fascinated the nation – the passion for Lego construction is truly infectious. Visually exciting, with warmth and good humour, Lego Masters encourages pure imagination and brilliant family engagement. We look forward to bringing the world even bigger OMG moments in Lego Masters Series Two.”

The first series concludes tomorrow night with production to resume later this year for 2020 broadcast.

  1. When I first heard about this show I was mildly curious and thought I may watch an episode or two. However, I’m totally hooked and watching every episode. I think that watching someone who has a passion for something is infectious to watch, even if it’s Lego. It’s refreshing that it’s not the usual vacuous and insta wannaebee typical reality show contestants being featured. Hamish Blake is doing a brilliant job as host. Sending up the usual suspense and drama these type of shows thrive on is hilarious. Calling in the medics last night when a contestant had a very minor cut to his hand was fabulous. Can’t wait for Series 2!

  2. I’ve been surprised at how much i’ve enjoyed this. The bridge challenge was awesome, i’ll definitely be back for the next season.

  3. Good news, the kids love it, but please, tone it down a bit. Not every show need to feel like MasterChef. Shine make every show from the same cookie cutter and Lego Masters shouldn’t feel and sound like MAFS!
