  1. Marngrook Football Show were posting on social media it was there best ratings for the year, how much did they lift with no Footy Show?

  2. If the 6pm timeslot is so crucial to setting the night up why are 10 giving us 3rd rate game shows one after the other? Taking a niche show and hoping it goes mainstream in this day and age is ridiculous. Give us something like Wheel of Fortune or Price is Right. A quality show that has a proven track record @5 + 5.30 but might work at 6. 10 need to respect the 6pm hour and if they did they might build an audience there.

  3. TEN should just buy back The Simpsons from Fox- surely it is the same cost or cheaper than these game shows. They would probably get the same viewers. They can then use it as a filler during the week for when the next show fails to perform as they did in the 90’s and 00’s.

I think the concept of Celebrity Name Game is ok but they need a fresh face to host it- it would be ideal for a loud witty drag queen similar to Bianca Delrio. Using those Queens featured in the AMMI advert would be fun.

  4. I totally agree with “RoaringDave” ” Pointless was a great show, it appealed to me, This new thing I watched it for the first show and you are right it would work better at 7.30. Thankfully here in Tas we have the local news read from interstate. The news first at five is good, but why dont they start the Project at 6.00 and then steal a march on the others by starting their evening shows at 7.00. Why they ever moved Neighbours to the backwaters of 11 and now Peach beats me, Neighbours in recent times has had some great moments of superb Australian acting, watched by more than the skewed ratings system tells us. When I say skewed it is only a handful of people who have thse “boxes” . I guess the likes of Netflix and the catch up services are so well liked because they have an accurate number of viewers.

    1. I don’t think they can start The Project at 6pm because WIN News always airs from 6 to 6.30pm in regional areas, right after 10 News First at 5pm.

  5. So, in conclusion it wasn’t just Pointless pulling lousy numbers at 6 pm…it’s the fact that they are putting up a game show against the two most watched News services (7 and 9 ).

    1. Towards the end of its run, All Star Family Feud was pulling under 200K. 10 just doesn’t seem to learn that game shows are simply not working at 6pm. Pulling an extra 50-60K viewers a night hardly seems worth the higher costs of production, guests, and prize money.

Pointless is a great concept, but is ill-suited for 6pm viewing. I feel the concept would have worked a lot better as a weekly hour-long show in a 7.30pm slot (with substantially higher prize money), but like Jeopardy before it, we’ll probably never hear of it again. Incidentally, U.S. Jeopardy is usually in the top 20 overnight ratings on Foxtel.

    2. Should have left Pointless on. Would cost far less than CNG (less prize money, don’t have to pay the “celebrities”) and is pulling basically the same numbers.

  6. Hi David, I’m not really after any figures for this add the is so many Encores of it, but are any of The Encores of Celebrity Name Game pulling decentish enough numbers?
If not there is very little chance the show will hit 300k again when they pull the multuple Encores.
