Seven picks up Harry & Meghan telemovie sequel

New US telemovie centres around Harry & Meghan's first year of marriage.

Seven has secured the rights to Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, the sequel to Lifetime’s 2018 telemovie Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.

Centered around their first year of marriage, it stars Charlie Field as Prince Harry (!) and Tiffany Smith as Meghan Markle (the first film featured Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley).

It also features Jordan Whalen as Prince William, Laura Mitchell as Kate Middleton, Maggie Sullivan as Queen Elizabeth II, Timothy Temple as Prince Philip, Charles Shaughnessy as Prince Charles, Deborah Ramsay as Camilla Parker Bowles and Bonnie Soper as Princess Diana (in flashback or ghostly form?).

The movie is executive produced by Merideth Finn and Michele Weiss. Menhaj Huda directs from a script by Scarlett Lacey.

Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal premieres May 27th in the US but Seven is yet to confirm an Australian TX.

The new film continues the love story of newlyweds Prince Harry (Charlie Field, Genius) and American actress Meghan Markle (Tiffany Smith, Supernatural), pulling back the curtain to reveal the untold joys and challenges of life inside the Royal Family during their pivotal first year of marriage.

Beyond blending their families and cultures, Harry and Meghan’s core values are put to the test as they try to find the balance between honouring Royal tradition and staying true to their beliefs.

  1. Prefer a good Royal documentary over a Royal drama any day. Too much artistic license. Even the movie ‘The Queen’ with Helen Mirren used too much artistic license, although apparently Her Majesty liked the movie.
