Trouble hits 90210 reunion

It didn't take long for rumours of diva antics to beset a show that was notorious for them in the first place.

It’s a drama worthy of a storyline on Beverly Hills 90210 (or possibly Grosse Pointe which parodied the show behind the scenes….)

The reunion show featuring Beverly Hills 90210 cast is beset by behind the scenes problems.

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has departed along with several senior members of the writing team. One source said the dispute was over interference from two of the show’s lead actresses, while another noted that the writers were unhappy with one of the executives overseeing the project.

The 6 part series BH90210 sees Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling and Shannen Doherty return as heightened versions of themselves.

Paul Sciarrotta (Jane the Virgin, The Fosters, 90210) has been promoted to showrunner and will serve alongside series creators Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler. Sources suggest the production has also beefed up the writing staff following multiple departures.

An Aussie broadcaster is yet to be announced.
