Vale: Pua Magasiva

NZ actor who had roles in Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Shortland Street & Outrageous Fortune, has died.

New Zealand actor Pua Magasiva, who had roles in Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Shortland Street and Outrageous Fortune, has died aged just 38.

He died suddenly during a visit to Wellington. Police are investigating his death.

“Pua’s family members are in the acute stage of grief and are not in a place to comment at this time other than to acknowledge the public outpouring of love for Pua and to thank all those who’ve expressed their condolences and offered their support,” a family statement said.

Pua was brother to Wentworth‘s Robbie Magasiva.

He played nurse Vinnie Kruse on Shortland Street between 2003-06 and then 2011-18. He became the first Samoan Power Ranger appearing in two seasons.

Other credits included East West 101 and Panic at Rock Island.
