Who needs a Logie? Hannah Gadsby eyes an Emmy.

Billboards in LA proclaim: "For Your Emmy Consideration."

Hannah Gadsby, bizarrely, may not have landed a Logie nomination on Sunday but she has her sights on a much bigger prize: an Emmy Award.

Billboards in Los Angeles are campaigning “For Your Emmy Consideration,” for her Netflix special Nanette.

Since vowing to give up comedy, Gadsby’s star has skyrocketed. She recently won a Peabody Award and is now touring the US with her follow-up show Douglas.

Despite being the biggest thing in comedy last year, Nanette was not put forward for Logie consideration in the Popular categories, and the genre is (still) not covered in the Most Outstanding categories.

Emmy nominations will be revealed on July 16 (US).

  1. Gadsby wins Best Comedy Peformer, and her show was nominated for Best Comedy Program, at last years AACTA Awards, but nothing for the Logies? Very odd…..

Good luck with the Emmy Awards 🙂

  2. A move to the Gold Coast. Unknown soap & cable personalities nominated for Gold. It’s almost as if the Logies have become irrelevant.

  3. If, after the farce of the just announced nominations for this year’s Logies (esp inc the Gold one), any of us weren’t finally convinced how irreverent and shallow the Logies are or have become – then this is surely it! Go Hannah! Just that billboard alone is more significant than a gold logie!
