ABC will enter a float in the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade next year, to be funded through donations.
The announcement was made by Managing Director David Anderson at an ABC Pride event in Sydney last night.
TV has been enjoying an increased presence within the annual Oxford Street parade, with SBS having had several previous entries, along with a Fremantle / Neighbours float and Netflix.

Happy & proud to join my colleagues tonight including @MoniqueSchafter and @rory_gregg to support LGBTQI inclusion & acceptance in our workplace. Treat others how you would hope to be treated & just share some love & kindness. Life's too short. #ABCPride pic.twitter.com/LVSm8UKdjH

I want Ita to head it.
… so does that mean the ABC will be putting a float into the Adelaide Christmas Parade like they did around fifty years ago?
Funded by donations, costing the taxpayer nothing, but by all means find the negative in anything to do with the ABC if you must.
Hmmm … you know, David, I could have sworn that your Comments Policy contained the phrase “Write respectfully of others.” I must have been mistaken …
The site still allows for robust comments, depends on wording and context. But objection noted.
