Henry Olonga forgets the words on The Voice

Every singer's worst fear.... all in front of Reality TV cameras.

Former cricketer turned singer Henry Olonga forgot the words last night on The Voice.

Olonga was singing Can You Feel the Love Tonight? during in a Knockout round.

“I can’t do this,” he said, after two attempts and walking offstage.

Forgetting the words live on stage is every singer’s worst fear, and we’ve seen it on Australian Idol and The X Factor before. But it was a moment of high drama for Nine’s reality juggernaut during a three-way sing off.

Coach Kelly Rowland coaxed him back to the stage for a third attempt where he overcame his nerves to receive a standing ovation.

The coaches reminded Olonga that forgetting lyrics is not uncommon.

” I’m always forgetting lyrics …even things I’ve written myself, I forget all the time,” offered Boy George.

But they also remarked that The Lion King suite suited the baritone singer more than his competition, former Young Talent Time singer Joey Dee and singer-guitarist Dakota Striplin.

In the end the drama paid off for Olonga, chosen by Kelly Rowland to proceed to the next stage.

“The artist that I feel like I’m going to take through really, really needs me in this juncture in their career. And that is Henry.”

Last night two All Stars, Sheldon Riley & Kim Sheehy, former Idol singer Lee Harding and Guy Sebastian’s friend  Chynna Taylor (whom he mentored on The X Factor in 2016) all won their respective Knockouts.
