Jack Vidgen return lifts The Voice, but Seven wins Sunday.

Ratings: Former AGT winner tests his luck on reality TV again, as 2 shows hit 2019 highs.

Former Australia’s Got Talent winner Jack Vidgen sang up a storm when he returned to screens last night on The Voice.

Now 22 years old, Vidgen won AGT at the age of 14, but told judges he had been unable to cope with the rollercoaster of fame, identity and social media bullying.

Last night The Voice hit a 2019 high and won its slot with 1.11m viewers. It topped older demos.

House Rules also hit a season high at 805,000 for Seven with MasterChef Australia third in its slot on 605,000 -10’s show topped the younger demos. ABC’s Shetland followed, from 7:40pm at 509,000.

While Nine won in primary channels, Seven claimed network share at 31.7% then Nine 30.3%, 10 16.3%, ABC 15.6% and SBS 6.2%.

Seven News was #1 for Seven with 1.19m then Sunday Night (643,000). Movie: Taken drew 236,000.

Nine News drew 1.02m then 60 Minutes (673,000). Suburban Gangsters was 301,000.

ABC News (675,000) led for ABC. Harrow was 461,000, Compass was 214,000 then Delicious and The Repair Shop (both 175,000).

The Sunday Project was 407,000 / 264,000 for 10 then 10 News First (266,000), FBI (203,000 / 140,000) and Bondi Rescue (173,000).

SBS World News (131,000), Epic Warrior Women (124,000), and Wasted! The Story of Food Waste (105,000) comprised SBS primetime.

7mate’s Thor movie topped multichannels at 200,000.

  1. I think I was watching mostly cooking shows on SBS Food…I usually watch 2nd screen…but I was in withdrawals…my broadband was down…4 days… ?

  2. The Voice is doing remarkably well, much better than I would have thought against House Rules and MasterChef. Seems 9 can do no wrong. All their reality shows have outperformed the opposition so far this year.

  3. Really good to see Jack back. What a talent. With all the promotion Nine did, it makes you wonder if he was paid for it to get him to do it. Not saying anything wrong with that but normally you would not see a winner of AGT appear on such a program.

    1. Had you watched Seven in 2011 you could not have missed their constant promo’s for AGT and Jack Vidgen moving through the competition to win it.
