Queensland nabs Screen Forever conference

Another coup for Queensland as industry conference heads north in 2020.

Screen Producers Australia annual conference Screen Forever is headed to Queensland in 2020, in another coup for the Sunshine state.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk made the announcement yesterday at a Stan-hosted event with Screen Queensland at The Star.

“We’re taking that from Melbourne as well. We took the Logies now we’ve got this, what’s next?” she told a room full of industry faces yesterday.

“We’re pleased to have what will attract 850 national and international screen industry leaders. But that’s not all. I’m also proud to say we’re continuing our relationship with Stan for screenplays for their platform and this is the ultimate aim of creating an industry telling their own stories.”

SPA CEO Matthew Deaner added, “We’re deeply humbled and honoured to be given the opportunity to host our annual trade conference up here.”

He added, “The biggest debate for us is which city host this in. Step forward if you are from Brisbane or the Gold Coast. We’ll take bids!”

The event has been held in Melbourne since 2012, following events hosted in Sydney.
