Silicon Valley confirms final season

Pied Piper will be disconnecting its business.

HBO has confirmed Silicon Valley will end with its upcoming 6th season.

Silicon Valley has been a career and life highlight for us. We’ll miss it desperately, but we’ve always let Pied Piper’s journey guide the way, and season six seems to be the fitting conclusion,” said showrunners Mike Judge and Alec Berg in a statement today. “We are forever indebted to our incredible cast, crew and partners at HBO. At a certain point, there’s only so much we can do to make the world a better place.”

Set around the tech team of Pied Piper, the cast includes Thomas Middleditch, Kumail Nanjiani, Josh Brener, Martin Starr, Zach Woods, Matt Ross, Amanda Crew.

It airs in Australia on the Comedy channel.

  1. S1 had the advantage of being fresh. Though it was a bit stereotypical and rough in parts. The way they described their measure of compression algorithms appeared to violate the laws of information science. Though when they explained it better it turned out to such a good idea that people started using it. The writing in terms of character and plotting got better as time went on but it is running out of ideas and time to wrap it up.

  2. I have to agree with the showrunners and it’s refreshing that Silicon Valley’s creators do seem to have a plan to provide a final chapter when generally most American shows just keep rambling on until they run out of creative ideas or get cancelled. Season 1 was certainly the best as it had the better gags and a fresh comedy writing style, the following seasons tested reality somewhat to keep the basic loser / sociopath predator theme of this show alive, but those hooked on the story had to keep watching, which showcased the skill of the writers. I hope Mike Judge and Alec Berg will be making something else in the future.
