EXCLUSIVE: Following on from the success of The Real Full Monty, Seven has greenlit a short-run series The Real Dirty Dancing, which sees celebrities perform in the actual locations used in the 1987 hit film.
The project will feature Aussie stars Hugh Sheridan, Jamie Durie, Jessica Rowe, Firass Dirani, Stephanie Rice, Anne Edmonds, Jude Bolton and Anna Heinrich. It will be hosted by Todd McKenney.
The Eureka Productions series is tipped to run about 4 or 5 episodes, with a finale in Sydney.
Like The Real Full Monty and the upcoming Ladies Night it is expected to profile several health matters. Added to Seven’s top-heavy local production roster, the show’s rehearsals will begin immediately.
Principal photography for Dirty Dancing took place in Lake Lure, North Carolina, and Mountain Lake, Virginia.

Its good to see a short-run series of this show. I also don’t see the problem of this show. It’s a short season. It raises money for charity. Yes, some “celebrities” are questionable, but isn’t that the case for most celebrity shows? lol.
If successful, then sure, add a “overblown reality show” that runs weeks longer than expected. All networks do it. lol.
Unclear if it will raise money for charity. Full Monty did not. It only ever promised to raise awareness of men’s cancer and live tix were free.
when i first read this i had to check it wasn’t the 1st of April….
Not sure about these negative comments, The Real Full Monty was loads of fun and had huge heart. Light hearted entertainment and raising awareness for health issues, what’s the problem?!
Any excuse for a “celebrity” show.
Why?
Why ????
