The Voice, HYBPA?, The Chase strong on Monday.

Ratings: Nine wins Monday on a night which just about gave everyone positive numbers.

Seven, Nine and 10 all had good reasons to smile last night, but the night ultimately went Nine’s way.

The Voice continues to comfortably win the 7:30 battle although 992,000 was down on last Monday’s 1.02m. It again topped the older demos.

That was well ahead of MasterChef Australia (648,000), Back Roads (631,000), House Rules (626,000) and 7:30 (620,000).

Have You Been Paying Attention? was 10’s best performer at 718,000, up on last week, topping the younger demo and winning its slot, discounting an extended Voice.

Seven did good business earlier, with Seven News and The Chase.

Nine network won Monday with 28.8% then Seven 27.3%, 10 19.2%, ABC 17.8% and SBS 7.0%.

Seven News was #1 with 1.18 / 1.1m for Seven then Home & Away (713,000) and The Chase (699,000 / 400,000),

Nine News was 975,000 / 959,000 for Nine then A Current Affair (848,000), Hot Seat (565,000 / 325,000), Lip Sync Battle (322,000 / 207,000), and in Melbourne Footy Classified (144,000).

The Project drew 526,000 / 302,000 for 10 then 10 News First (431,000), Kinne Tonight (305,000), Celebrity Name Game (258,000) and a repeat of Mr. Black (114,000).

ABC News (709,000), Four Corners (500,000), Media Watch (486,000), Q&A (403,000) and The Drum (198,000) also comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was 63 Up (234,000), Medicine or Myth? (207,000), 24 Hours in Emergency (154,000) and SBS World News (121,000).

Octonauts on ABC KIDS topped multichannels at 205,000.

  1. Love Back Roads, great to have it back. A lot of those places are like another world, even though we’re talking about our backyard. Kinne has seemed to stabilise around 300K – surely a good result for 10 at 9.30, though a big drop-off from HYBPA

  2. Yesterday’s Q&A was the kind we need more of – reasonable scientists having an informed and sensible discussion, not useless politicians that yell at each other for an hour and achieve nothing.

  3. Great to see Back Roads do similar numbers to the winter season this time last year (635,000! A quality program, showcasing lesser known towns and their iconic features and characters!
