Axed: She’s Gotta Have It

Spike Lee dramedy wraps after two seasons, but he hopes to shop it around.

Spike Lee dramedy She’s Gotta Have It has been axed by Netflix after two seasons.

The series was based on the 1986 film of the same name and followed free-spirited artist Nola Darling (DeWanda Wise).

“Spike Lee is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time and we’re thrilled he brought the series She’s Gotta Have It to Netflix,” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer. “While this is our last season, we’re very proud that it will be on our service for years to come, and excited to be working with Spike on his upcoming Netflix film Da 5 Bloods.”

Lee is expected to try and find a new home for the series.
