Former AFL player and Footy Show presenter Brendan Fevola is a guest on FOX Footy’s Bob this week talking to host Robert Murphy.
“Fev was box office in his day. But was he a flawed footballing genius? I need to find out,” Bob asks.
Fevola was sacked at 29 after Michael Voss visited him at at a mental health facility, but now says it was probably the best thing that happened to him.
Playing country football turned things around.
“I wouldn’t have what I have now if it wasn’t for Yarrawonga,” he says.
Despite going there for the cash, he never expected it to have such a positive experience.
“Best decision I ever made,” he says.
“Yarra was more like 80s footy, smoke and a beer after the game. Have a pie and you sing the song and there’s a slab in the middle. I was built for country footy.”
Fevola won I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here , co-hosts breakfast radio on FOX FM and appreciates family life.
“I’m surrounded by females, I’m very, very lucky and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
8:30pm Tuesday on FOX Footy.
